Fisher Price clothes

I failed to plan well: Elise entered January with shivery cold legs.

This Fisher-Price set cost $4 (winter clothes marked 33% off).

Very cute for Dollar General, isn't it?

My daughter has several Fisher Price outfits from General Dollar. I have never been disappointed.

Well, I am happy to see that baby with something on her little arms and legs. She always look cold to me in the photos you post.

Fisher Price does make some cute reasonably priced clothes. Good find!

I did the same thing with Brenna's wardrobe. Being down south it takes so long to get cold that we forget it is going to:) My mom found a great sale on leggings so I've been putting those under dresses - she's even worn a few from last year that I felt were too short with tights. They're adorable with a dress over them, though, and Brenna likes that she's dresses like her college-age aunt:)

Yes, very cute! And a great price. We have a new Dollar General nearby. I need to go check it out.

Very cute! I had the same problem--our winters are mild compared to many places but still a distinctly colder season--because when planning for my 2nd son this winter I just assumed his brother's & cousin's hand-me-downs would fill the bill. Nope, we had stuff a size too small and a size too big (making a young toddler even clumsier than usual). Luckily a neighbor saved me with a box from her boys and I was able to share baby gear for her youngest.

Your daughter always looks so cute. If you have never parented a "hot" child other parents think you are crazy. My son walked to xchool in shorts when it was 40. He thought it was great.

Ignore the criticism your blog is awesome.

Too cute! Our house is a neverending search for tights. They are always lost...so we stay home ;)

I just assumed that Tennessee was very mild in the winter or you keep you house very warm since the kids do seem to always have on short sleeves, dresses wtihout tights, etc. She looks cozy now!

I love those Fisher Price outfits from Dollar General. The ones I have bought for my 2-year-old have always washed well and lasted her a long time. I didn't realize their winter clothes were on clearance. I'll have to get by there soon.

I was wondering if you would be up for taking your camera with you the next time you hit the thrift stores.

And then doing a tutorial of where and how you look when looking through stuff at a thrift store.

You know, for those of us who never find anything good at their local thrift stores.

Very cute for $4!

How quirky that your readers look at the photos of your kids and get worried about how cold they are! That just strikes me as really funny.

I've always let my kids (toddler and up) wear sleeves, no sleeves, tights, no tights, based on THEIR comfort level -- which is unique to every person.

The exception is, if they are going to be in a car traveling somewhere they must have clothing appropriate for the weather at hand, in case the car broke down and they had to walk. That comes from living in extreme weather locations, I guess.

Elise has been potty training for most of the year. I keep her without leggings in the house so she can make it in time.

She's just hit a growth spurt and none of her fall leggings fit.

Andrew, on the other hand, is a hot kid and never ever wears long sleeves unless coerced. He even wears his Tevas in January when he can get away with it.

I let them set their comfort level. I think I've said here before, when similar criticism was made, that they know where their sweaters are hung.

I found at Dollar General a Buster Brown outfit for my son when he was 2 for $4. It was the most darling outfit he ever had! Dark sage green corduroys, brown/plaid button down shirt, and a brown fleece vest. I LOVED that outfit!

I have two comments:
Once, years ago, I remember watching a program about Native Alaskan Eskimos that lived in Igloos. The film I watched showed a little child running around the Igloo in just a diaper, completely oblivious to whatever the temp was inside that Igloo!
Secondly, four of my five kids have short sleeves on today, even though the outside temp is only 14 degrees here in Central Illinois. Tennessee is bound to be warmer than that!

I ALWAYS have problem having enough warm clothes for my Obed when the cold wheather hits -- and of course, then it is hard to find the clothes in the shops!
I didn't know Fisher Price made clothes!

I have a two year old granddaughter who lives in the Nashville area. Her mother dresses her each morning in a onesie, pants and a long sleeve shirt. Special occasions, dress and tights. I feel that if I'm wearing long sleeves, then my children probably need the same unless they are older and are very hot (or cold) naturally. Most little ones will not come to you and say "Mom, I'm cold", and little ones don't have the ability to twll you. By the way, she naps with a blanket over her, too.

I have a hot child, too. I always keep socks in the diaper bag just for trips to Grandma's house. LOL. I don't want her worried over her poor baby's feet. :)

Those are cute...mmm...I wonder if they would have any footed pj's. My youngest tore through his last one today.

I've never thought the kids looked cold. Mmmm...I have a child who loves the cold weather and one who hates it. It's kind of funny because DD comes alive on days like today when it's 19 degrees or so-and I'm about to let them out in the snow and yes, it'll be a "discussion" the whole way about whether a hat and mittens are really necessary.

It's hard keeping up with the season changes and growing little ones!!! Especially when many stores are already stocking swim suits and we need snow gloves!

Dear Meredith...Thanks for an outstanding engaging blog. My children are grown/older. We live in Birmingham, Alabama. My oldest was dressed as I felt hot or cold and was fine. My second was ALWAYS HOT! He was our family heater when we had The Bizzzzard of 92. There was no power for 8 days. My third likes to be snuggly. In Montgomery, Alabama most babies go without shoes or socks to this day. A beloved pediatrician there taught all the mamas that it was the only way to develope good strong feet and immune systems. Any barefoot babies at Church Nursery were from Montgomery! You have a seriosly fabulous blog-Love Susan

I think you just have better stores than we do, and that makes me jealous.

Aldi's, Dollar General, it just doesn't seem f-a-i-r, wah.

It's a really cute find! :)

I still remember two very cute outfits (one romper and one cotton t-shirt dress) from my hometown Dollar General that I bought for Miss C!
