Well, the house has not yet sold! The owner's nephew is insisting that she have an appraisal first. All that may take at least two weeks, before we even know if the house is in our price range. If that figure is close to its tax appraisal (and tax appraisals in our city are recently assessed and fairly accurate), then we can afford it. So now to keep looking at other properties and hold my breath about this one!
