Splenda doesn't seem to have the same effect.

Splenda is not as good as sugar. I would use regular sugar if I weren't cooking for him. After all, the whole pie only uses 1/2 cup...if you use unsweetened coconut, that is.

I have a real sweet tooth, though, and the creaminess of the custard really made the small amount of sweetener better.Meredithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08455517419708043340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-66669054125146635582008-06-18T21:38:00.000-05:002008-06-18T21:38:00.000-05:00Totally off topic, but that is a beautiful fork!Totally off topic, but that is a beautiful fork!Christian - Modobject@Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09687272618188063178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-27704008565294490262008-06-18T21:35:00.000-05:002008-06-18T21:35:00.000-05:00Yum.Any more diabetic recipe ideas?Yum.
Any more diabetic recipe ideas?MommyLydiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15608956553350425075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-16922857811325923892008-06-18T21:28:00.000-05:002008-06-18T21:28:00.000-05:00This sounds absolutely wonderful!LisaCents To Save...This sounds absolutely wonderful!

Lisa
Cents To SaveLisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16681111721765764568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12364613.post-63888811998904252502008-06-18T21:25:00.000-05:002008-06-18T21:25:00.000-05:00This sounds delicious! It looks divine!

Meredith, do you ever use agave nectar/ agave syrup in recipes? I've been using it in homemade ice cream -- it is still a sugar, but has a very low glycemic index. It's pricey, but delicious for treats. Splenda makes us a little ill, so I use agave instead. Wondered if you'd experimented with it at all? I may have to try this recipe with it.Aprilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10155256816626940605noreply@blogger.com
